Lyle MCC 2008
Méthode Cap Classique of 57% Chardonnay and 43% Pinot Noir with extended maturation time in the bottle, making it one of South Africa’s only sparkling wines to spend more than 60 months on the lees. Ten percent reserve wine oaked in New French barriques.

Ghost Gum White 2012
This is a fragrant blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc.
Both of these varietals were barrel fermented and matured for eleven months in mostly second-fill French oak barrels with batonage being performed once a week for the first eleven weeks after fermentation. Both cultivars were allowed to partially go through malolactic fermentation in the barrel.

Sauvignon Blanc 2013
The grapes come from our farm in Elgin, where the cool temperatures are ideal for Sauvignon Blanc. We fermented three small batches using three different yeast strains; each adding their own unique characteristic to the wine. The aim as always with our Sauvignon Blanc, is to get the balance between frehsness and fruit ripeness correct. We achieve this by picking the grapes when they are fully ripe and by utilising reductive winemaking techniques. Batonage was performed on the wine for the first 7 weeks after fermentation to give the wine a creamy, rich mouthfeel.

Heart of the Lees 2009
This Sauvignon Blanc was left on the lees to extract a maximum of flavour and then matured in 3rd fill French oak barriques for 12 months. This wine is a great accompaniment to food with wonderful Sauvignon freshness and hints of toast, nuts and citrus.

The 'J' 2013
This is a fragrant blend of 43% Sauvignon Blanc, 39% Viognier, 13% Semillon and 5% Chardonnay. Only the Semillon and Chardonnay were barrel-fermented and matured for eleven months in second-fill French oak barriques. The Sauvigon Blanc and Viognier are unwooded which gives a wonderful crisp, citrus freshness to the blend. This wine has great balance with rich layers of aromatic floral spice and butterscotch, countered by a touch of sweetness from the Viognier and bright acidity from the Sauvignon Blanc. The palate is creamy and silky, with a long textured finish, while the wood component adds a delicate hint of hazelnuts.
A wonderful wine to serve with Thai food, or any dish that contains gigner and a touch of chilli.

Camissa is a balanced blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Shiraz and 17% Merlot. It shows big, dark fruit flavours and ripe juicy tannins in a distinctly old-world fashion. This wine will certainly benefit from being matured in the bottle as every effort was made to extract a high concentration of flavour and natural tannins. All three components of the Camissa spent 30 months in a combination of first, second and third-fill French oak barriques. Enjoy now or before 2018.

Syrah Reserve 2010
This wine is truly old-world in style, matured for 30 months in second-and-third-fill French oak barriques. The grapes all come from a very special, low-yielding block on our farm, exhibiting classic white pepper aromatics. We harvested when the grapes were very ripe, accentuating the true character of shiraz. There is a definite meaty, savoury element to the wine, tied together with soft, ripe tannins on the palate. The wine is very big and robust, showcasing our traditional winemaking practices and our focus on full-bodied, concentrated red wines. Enjoy with rich, flavourful dishes such as belly of pork or Boeuf Bourguignon.

The Max 2010
This wine, like its namesake, our 9 year old Jack Russel, has serious attitude and as was recently pointed out to us, it is now also full-bodied! The idea behind The Max is to create a wine that has huge ageing potential as well as round, rich flavours that allow the wine to be enjoyed in its youth. It is a Bordeaux-style blend, made up of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot with a little Petit Verdot and Malbec. All of the components were picked later than usual to ensure that the tannins, while still big and grippy, are also soft and ripe. The four cultivars were matured in a combination of new and second-fill French oak barriques for 30 months before blending.

Ghost Gum Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
This single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon went into 100% New French oak barriques for a total of 30 months. 5% Petit Verdot was added to give another layer of flavour. Tantalizing layers of rich blackcurrant and cassis combine with the firm, ripe, svelty tannins to produce a wine with great structure and finesse. The flavours linger on the palate, giving it a wonderful long followthrough. This wine begs to be cellared, but the flavours are so rich and addictive that it is going to be difficult to resist.

The Shiraz and Viognier were harvested together and co-fermented in second and third-fill French oak barriques. The Mourvèdre was picked very ripe and, after fermentation, it spent 27 months in wood and was then blended with the Shiraz and Viognier. All of the grapes were from our estate.

Warm spicy aromas merging with delicious ripe dark cherries, a hint of chocolate and mocha smokiness make the nose of this wine hugely appealing. Characteristic hints of white pepper, nutmeg and vanilla follow through onto the palate where they combine with concentrated sweet red fruit. Big, ripe juicy tannins give the wine excellent structure and aging potential.

The grapes were picked very ripe and maintained a great level of acidity despite the warm 2011 vintage. Malolactic fermentation and maturation took place in second-and-third-fill French oak barriques for 27 months, as not to influence the flavour of the Shiraz, but rather to soften and age the wine before bottling.

V on A Dessert Wine
When we first started producing Viognier, Joy had trouble pronouncing it until Nigel told her to say 'V on A'. That was it - we call it : Stony Brook V on A. 100% Viognier grapes that are left to fully ripen on the vines. The juice was then barrel fermented and left in the French oak barriques for 24 months. The resulting wine has wonderful peach, apricot and melon flavours and is rich and full of flavour without being in the least cloying. Wonderful with Crème Brulleé.

White Ash Bluff Sauvignon Blanc 2011
This Sauvignon Blanc has been made from grapes grown on a single vineyard located on the north bank of Marlborough's Awatere Valley. On the nose smoky notes mingle with currants & herbal notes, along with hints of lychee. The palate is defined by layers of flavor that subtly unfold. Touches of dried herbs and a chalky minerality and appear as this wine opens up. It is all held together by a lovely acidity that glides through the wine giving it great structure & persistence of flavour.
